Welcome to the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo. The Consular Section has two main missions:

  • to provide a wide range of services to American citizens visiting or residing in the Dominican Republic, including offering online U.S. citizen registration, issuing U.S. passports, registering the births of U.S. citizens, and providing assistance to Federal Benefits recipients; and

  • to provide immigrant and nonimmigrant visa services to Dominicans and citizens of other countries who are in the Dominican Republic.
