American Citizens Services Unit

Office Hours and Location

The Consular Section is located in the “La Esperilla” section of the Santo Domingo city, on the corner of César Nicolás Penson Street and Máximo Gómez Avenue.  The American Citizens Services (ACS) Unit is closed on all Dominican and American holidays, as well as on Administrative Days.  The building is accessible to the disabled.  General office hours are 7:30am – 4:00pm, Mondays through Thursdays, and 7:30am – 11:30pm on Fridays.  Our working hours for specific services are listed below.

Starting March 1, 2007, the new working hours are as follow:

Passport Services::

Mondays – Wednesdays, 7:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

Report of Birth Services:

Tuesdays – Thursdays, 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

Notarial Services:

Tuesdays and Thursdays.  You must drop off your documents between 7:30 a.m. & 11:00 a.m., and come back at 1:30 p.m. to pick them up already notarized.  Please note that the afternoon is only for pick-up of documents previously dropped off during the morning; we no longer offer notarial services in the afternoon.

Emergencies and Other Services:

Monday - Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Fridays, 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Federal Benefits Services:

Monday - Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.; Fridays 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
